welder on a house call doing metal work in front of a walkway in Central Florida

We often take calls from customers on the road who are dealing with an unfortunate crack or break of some sort. A commercial trailer hitch with a malfunction is not going to allow for safe completion of a delivery. This is just one of the many roadside repairs we are capable of assisting with. If you are so unlucky as to need emergency repair, please do your part to get your vehicle or trailer to a safe location where there is enough room for us to work. Whether you need help badly or not, we cannot send any members of our team into a dangerous situation. If the weather is rainy, we're only able to perform welding work in a dry condition under a suitable covering. Electricity and water don't mix.

It's important to understand that when dealing with mobile work, the cost can be higher than if you bring your projects directly to a welding shop. We may have to bill for travel time depending upon your location or the hours in which the work needs to be done. Our portable welding equipment can only be in one place at one time (for a single rig). In a welding shop, jobs can be put in a queue so that we can tackle one after another with minimal set up and breakdown between each job, which is always required when we weld remotely.

These higher costs can certainly be justified and are sometimes required when the work is too difficult to accomplish otherwise. Some fences may be installed too deep into the ground to be removed. In that case, having a truck visit the site may be the most suitable option because destroying a portion of concrete and then replacing it afterwards is going to require more than hiring a welder. Heavy underground pipes are run throughout most cities but these can't be removed and reinstalled without complete street overhauls. Having an experienced on-site repair team with the right expert welding skill set and equipment is necessary.

Keep in mind that once a piece of metal has a creak or break, although we can mend it with a weld, the result will not be as strong as the original item. Depending on the fix (trailer hitch, heavy equipment attachment, car rim) it may be wise to have the item inspected after your job is complete or you get to your final destination. When more time is allowed and maybe your budget has expanded, depending upon the project it may be advisable to fully clean the break and attach an additional metal plate for added stability, safety, and longevity. In a situation where you're calling (maybe from the side of the road or on a worksite) and telling us, "I've found a welder near me, and I need this done ASAP so I can get back to work today," the repair may be different than if we had several hours to clean or grind down the surface, do a full inspection, and provide a thorough assessment of the best way to proceed. Our intention is to have future repairs be avoided for as long as possible. Nobody wants to pay for the same service two and three times which is why if we make a repair in a pinch, we may also recommend that you follow up with a more adequate, thorough inspection and repair down the road. Every job is different and certain equipment calls for different attention. We don't want to leave you stranded, but the safety of our customers and workers is equally important.
