For all your Welding and Fabrication needs

An experienced welder should be able to cleanly join metal parts in various positions. That skill set should be mastered when completing certification along with the ability to measure and plan dimension layouts for metal pieces. But the wealth of experience that comes with a team of detail-oriented and precise trade welders will include the ability to read blueprints, technical sketches, and engineering drawings, while able to quickly spot defects and understand the best course of action.

Whether your need is commercial, residential, or even industrial, we'd love to hear about the details. At Tampa Welding, we're capable of MIG welding, TIG welding, and stick welding. Some possible projects we'd love to help with include custom frames for vehicles, trailer repair and customization, windows and doors, metal stairs indoors or out, deck, porch, and balcony railings, fences, outdoor signage, tables, chairs, benches, racks for retail or hanging sound equipment and the list goes on. We've been approached about jobs that wow us as well as jobs that astound us. From the wacky to the ordinary, if it's metal, we want to weld it.

We run a full-service welding shop and can accommodate mobile requests too. Fabrication is another feature that allows us to really flex our muscle. Whether you have some rough ideas or we need to hit the drawing board, we are sure that our hard work and commitment to the job will produce a pleasing result.

Whether you're stranded on the side of the road or your job is too large to transport, we'll bring our portable welding services to you.

Residential

Gates, fences, farm equipment, mowers, carports, trailers and pool fences are just some of the items we can assist with at your home.

Depending upon your usage,  you may have customizations you want done on your vessel. Call us for custom t-tops or hand rail repairs.

At an office, apartment building, church or home, we know the value of keeping all your stairs and railings in proper working condition.

Welding services in

the Tampa Bay Area

Our desire, since starting Tampa Welding, has been to grow and expand while never losing the characteristics of a mom and pop business, such as honesty, transparency, and a personal touch on all jobs. We may not be able to promise the same day service that emergency shops come with, but we can promise that when we help you with your welding project, we will be giving it our full attention with the intention of doing it right the first time so as to leave every customer pleased. We strive to create repeat customers and not to get repeat calls for the same tasks! Getting a job done fast is not always the same as getting a job done right.

We have experience with aluminum, wrought iron, mild steel, stainless steel, copper, and others. We strive to leave all our customers satisfied and pleased. Our brand name will be in your mind each time you admire our work around your property, so we certainly don't want anything negative to be associated with that project that will last for years to come. We can create specialty items, we can match photos of existing products, and we can create simplistic, modern pieces. Each project is unique and different clients and environments call for different approaches. Our first priority is making sure you get exactly what you want within a reasonable budget.

Tampa Welding experience and background

If you've ever seen a large crack on a car rim and wondered if welding was like using a hot glue gun to the crack...you've got the right idea in a rudimentary way. In the most basic form, welding involves joining two pieces of metal together. When a person sets out to weld, they are actually melting multiple materials that are touching so when they solidify, the new bond creates a piece almost as strong as the original material. The welder adds a filler material which can serve as a plug in any holes or gaps while also helping to form the secure bond by joining the space between the materials.

You may have heard the term MIG Welding which stands for metal inert gas welding. This form is extremely common among commercial uses. It is fast and works well on large pieces. The welding gun has a wire which is fed through with an inert gas and the wire is melted to serve as the filler material when welding. The gas helps prevent the hot metal from making gas traces. MIG welding can leave a clean weld without slag or bubbles when executed well. Slag is sort of like waste matter that results from the welding process. It does not add any strength to the weld and should actually be removed by chipping, scraping, or grinding it away. This is necessary for several reasons, one of which is so you can inspect the quality of the weld. This can't be done with too much particulate obstructing the view. Visually, slag does not look appealing or professionally tidy. Lastly, if an additional weld should be needed, the slag needs to be removed so the next weld is on a fully clean surface.

TIG Welding, while a much slower process, can be done with fine precision. TIG welding stands for tungsten inert gas welding and is performed by using a tungsten electrode to heat the metal. It is most commonly used for aluminum, light stainless steel and copper alloys. A filler metal can be used but is not required. Because of the slower speed that is required, TIG welds tend to carry a high production cost for the welder. Both are types of arc welds that perform with inert gases.

There are other methods of welding too but we find these to be the most common for our use. Each method has pros and cons and each comes with a list of jobs they may or may not work well on. The best part of learning about all this is that you don't really need to stress over the methods. Leave that to our expert team and trust that our training and experience will shine through to your final product.
